This course starts where you have never opened Config Studio for Codex and ends with a complete Codex setup you understand line by line, installed on your machine or shared with your team. Nothing is written to your disk until you run the script yourself.
Each lesson is short and does one job. Do them in order, or jump to the one you need.
What you will be able to do
- Set your model and defaults in
config.tomland read the exact file before it exists - Choose where Codex's commands may write and when it stops to ask
- Know which config layer wins: requirements, flags, the project, a profile, your own file
- Write rules for commands, test a command against them, and add hooks and AGENTS.md instructions
- Pick and order the items of the Codex status line and terminal title
- Add MCP servers, write skills and make custom agents
- Start from a pack or the setup you have, review every file, and install or share the whole setup
Who it is for
Anyone who uses Codex in the terminal, the IDE or the app and wants to know what a setting does, which file it goes in, or why Codex ignores the one they set. You need nothing installed: the tool is a web page.
